Buyer Beware of Replacement Window Price Estimator Tools Posing as BM Windows

The internet is a great thing! With a simple Google search you can find almost anything you’re looking for, including replacement window companies in San Diego. However, consumers would be wise to do a little more investigating into their Google search results to make sure that they actually are what they claim to be.

We say this because there are companies out there that are using BM Windows’s good name to help drive traffic to their own sites, which are not affiliated with our business at all. For example, when you do a Google search for “BM Windows in San Diego,” not only do your search results show our company’s official website and a link to our profile on Yelp, but you’ll also see several replacement window price estimator tools with our name on them. One we saw recently was titled “Instant BM Window Quotes.”

If you click on that link, it takes you to an online price estimator that asks for some of your information in order to send you “up to four free no obligation estimates to compare from [their] network of window specialists.” The only problem is, if you fill out their form, none of your four estimates will be from BM Windows, since we don’t work with the company providing the estimates or provide them with any information about our products or pricing.

This is misleading, at best, and dishonest, at worst, on the part of whoever put together this replacement window price estimator tool. They are taking our company’s name, which they have rightfully determined is a highly respected name in San Diego, and using it to benefit their own company.

What concerns us the most in this situation is that customers who think they will be getting a quote on quality replacement windows from BM Windows will actually be getting quotes from other replacement window companies in San Diego that may not offer the same level of customer service, quality products, and professionalism that we provide our customers.

Our experience with online price estimators is also that they often give you a very low initial price in order to encourage you to call. But once you actually get down to it, the price quickly goes up, as you realize the quote you received was for the most basic windows and doors that aren’t very energy efficient or particularly well made.
