Whenever one of our potential customers asks about windows to help block out noise from the outside, we tell them about Anlin Windows. Anlin is our preferred manufacturer of replacement windows, and the one we recommend to many San Diego homeowners.

The Anlin windows we sell come standard with double-strength glass, which provides better sound suppression than the ordinary glass you’ll find in many replacement windows on the market. In other words, you don’t have to pay extra for any upgrades to get a noticeable difference in noise reduction when you go with Anlin windows.

For those homeowners who want to reduce the noise that enters their homes even more, Anlin offers their Sound Package, which reduces up to 50% of outside noise compared to typical dual-pane windows! Please note that Anlin is comparing their windows with the Sound Package to other dual-pane windows. You might see other manufacturers comparing their windows’ sound suppression capabilities with single-pane windows. Any dual-pane window (with added sound suppression technology or not) will outperform a single-pane window.

Occasionally, Anlin offers their Sound Package as a free upgrade! When they do, BM Windows passes those savings directly on to our customers. (Other replacement window companies in the area still charge their customers for the Sound Package upgrade and then pocket the difference.)

Features of Anlin’s Sound Package

You might be wondering what, exactly, you get when you upgrade Anlin Windows with their Sound Package. One feature included in the Sound Package is dissimilar glass thickness. Anlin will use a 1/8” exterior glass pane and a 3/16” interior pane to help break down sound waves before they enter the home by reducing bounce and vibration. In addition, the manufacturer will insert Argon gas between the two panes of glass, which further reduces the transfer of sound waves. As an added bonus, Argon gas also helps to reduce the transfer of heat, making your home more energy efficient.

Strategically Placing Replacement Windows with the Sound Package in San Diego Homes

Here’s the great news: you may not have to upgrade every replacement window in your home with sound suppression technology in order to get great results! For example, if most of the unwanted noise coming into your home is from the busy street you live on, you could upgrade just the windows on the street-facing portion of your home. Or, if it’s your neighbors (or their dogs, lawnmower, leaf blower, etc.) who are the source of unwanted noise, you could have sound suppression technology installed on the windows that are closest to their homes. However, if the issue is noise from the airport, Camp Pendleton, or some other source that isn’t right next to your home, you may want to upgrade all your new windows with the Sound Package.
