Now, the almost 50-year-old bridge will be getting an upgrade. A sizable donation made by BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair will allow plans to move forward to add decorative, energy-efficient LED lighting to the bridge. The project has been on hold for the last several years due to a lack of funding.
