It’s no secret that we love the Anlin brand of replacement windows here at BM Windows! They are our go-to recommendation for any homeowner looking for high-quality, energy-efficient replacement windows in San Diego.
Not too long ago, we dedicated one of our blog posts to the glass used in Anlin windows—glass manufactured by Cardinal Glass Industries, one of the top glass manufacturers in the world! They make insulated glass units (IGU) that help keep out solar heat and UV rays and that have a very low seal failure rate compared to other IGUs in the industry. The fact that Anlin uses IGUs from Cardinal Glass is one of the reasons we highly recommend their windows to our clients.
In this blog post, we want to talk about another important component of Anlin replacement windows—their frames. Specifically, the vinyl that is used in their frames. Anlin windows have frames made with a proprietary Titanium Dioxide Infused Vinyl Extrusion that they call XTRU. The Titanium Dioxide that is added to the vinyl gives Anlin’s frames superior strength, durability, and color retention when compared to the vinyl used by many other manufacturers of replacement windows.
The strength of their vinyl composite material allows Anlin to make larger picture windows than other vinyl window manufacturers can. The durability keeps windows from cracking and warping and gives Anlin the confidence to include a lifetime warranty with all of their windows. The superior color retention keeps windows looking new for many years—even windows with dark-colored frames and those that are exposed to many hours of direct sunlight every day.
In addition to the high-quality vinyl material used in Anlin frames, the frames also have fusion welded corners. Fusion welding uses heat to chemically bond the frame pieces together into a single, seamless piece. This makes Anlin windows almost completely air- and watertight—much more so than the mechanically fastened frames that are found in cheap replacement windows.
If you have been on the fence about vinyl windows because you’ve seen vinyl windows that are cracked, warped, or faded, you were probably looking at windows made with cheaper vinyl blends. The answer isn’t to pay the high price for fiberglass windows. Instead, opt for higher-quality vinyl windows, like Anlin windows, that will look great and perform well for many years to come!
Anlin windows come at an affordable price point when compared to windows of similar quality. They are sometimes even more affordable than lesser-quality windows!
