We often get asked if we offer any discounts on our doors and windows. We understand that money is tight for a lot of San Diego homeowners and that most people are looking for a great deal on new windows and doors. At BM Windows, we don’t offer what people traditionally think of as “discounts,” but read on to find out more about our pricing and what we do offer.
Typically, when you see a discounted item in a store, it’s discounted for one of four reasons: either it didn’t sell well, the company ordered too many of a certain item, the item has been discontinued, or the item is defective or damaged. Products in one of these four categories are discounted so that the company can get rid of them to make room for other items in their store or in their warehouse.
At BM Windows, all our windows are made to order. We don’t stock windows in our warehouse, so therefore, there is never an overstock of windows that we need to clear out. Any windows that are damaged or defective, we send back to the manufacturer. And trust us, you wouldn’t want damaged or defective windows anyway—even at a discount!
What Do You Offer Instead of Discount Windows and Doors?
At this point, bargain-loving homeowners might be asking themselves, “Why would I buy from a company that doesn’t offer discount doors and windows?”
We believe that what we offer at BM windows is even better than discounts. We offer affordable prices every day. You don’t have to wait for sales or specials to get a great deal on replacement windows and doors.
For San Diego homeowners who are more budget-conscious, we offer several brands of replacement windows and doors that come at a lower price point because they have fewer features than our top-of-the-line brands. They are still great, energy-efficient windows and doors. They just don’t have all the bells and whistles that some of the high-end products have.
At BM Windows, we don’t sell “cheap” windows and doors. This is an important distinction. We sell certain brands of windows that are a good value, but they aren’t what we would call “cheap.” To us, a cheap product is one that is poorly made or that isn’t durable. We sell windows and doors that come at a good price relative to their quality. When you compare the prices of our windows and doors to some of the others on the market, we believe you’ll find that our windows cost less than comparable products and may even be less expensive than inferior products.

There will sometimes be rebates or tax credits available for homeowners in San Diego who make energy efficiency upgrades to their homes. These are often offered by the federal government, your utility company, or through the ENERGY STAR program. On our Resources page, we have included links to several of the popular money-saving programs for San Diego homeowners who install energy-efficient windows. There may be others available at the time you decide to purchase new windows. We’ll let you know about any rebates or tax credits that we are aware of, and we can even help you get started on the paperwork, if needed.
Another way we help our customers save money is through free add-ons. On occasion, some of the window manufacturers we work with will of offer our company incentives to try to get us to sell more of their products. For example, one manufacturer recently decided to include upgraded sound suppression technology on every window we sold in San Diego—free of charge. We passed on that benefit directly to our customers. We could have continued to sell this feature as an added upgrade, but we decided to give our customers the benefit of this free upgrade.
But Other Companies in San Diego Offer Discount Windows and Doors…
You may have seen other replacement window companies in San Diego running ads for sales or “specials.” We’ve seen them, too. They might advertise, “Buy 3 Windows, Get 1 Free,” or, “Any Size Window for One Low Price,” or some other great-sounding deal.
These are almost always marketing gimmicks that don’t yield any actual savings for the homeowner. If a company is giving you a “free” window, it’s likely because they’ve marked up the prices of all the other windows that were purchased. Or if every window is the same price, it’s because the company is just giving you the average price of all the windows they sell (which means you’re paying too much for some of them).
At BM Windows, we don’t like sales gimmicks. We prefer to just give our customers our actual best price. Our pricing is straightforward and easy to understand. You won’t get any surprise charges at the end of the installation, either. We’ve heard of window companies adding on the cost of the installation at the end—surprising the homeowner who rightfully assumed that the installation of the windows was included in the initial quote. We treat our customers fairly and how we would want to be treated by a company.
It’s always free to get a quote from BM Windows, and there is never any obligation or pressure from our team members to buy. If you’d like to get a quote, contact our office to schedule an appointment.
